Karol Mrva retains seat on the board of Slovakia’s central bank

Karol Mrva will return for a third term as a member of the board of the National Bank of Slovakia (NBS) as Prime Minister Robert Fico's cabinet appointed him again to this position on May 23 with an effective date of June 1, 2012. His previous term ended in January this year and Mrva will now be serving his third term on the board of Slovakia's central bank.

Mrva currently is the executive director for operations of financial markets and payment services at the NBS. He is an alternate governor for the National Bank of Slovakia to the Governing Council of the European Central Bank and a member of the committee on operations of financial markets of the European Central Bank.

Mrva has been employed by the NBS since its inception. The bank board currently has four members: the governor, a deputy governor and two other members.
