Kasanický appointed to chair Slovenské Elektrárne supervisory board

Electricity producer Slovenské Elektrárne (SE) picked Richard Kasanický as the new chairman of its supervisory board at an extraordinary meeting on August 31, the TASR newswire reported, citing SE spokesperson Jana Burdová.

"Viliam Kupec has replaced Rastislav Antala as a member of the management board. Following the dismissal of Róbert Mistrík and Ján Marušinec as members of the supervisory board, Richard Kasanický and Eduard Metke were elected as new members. Marco Salemme also has replaced Juan Maria Moreno Mellado as a member of the supervisory board," Burdová said, adding that all the changes became effective as of August 31.

The SE management board now has the following members: Paolo Ruzzini (chairman), Branislav Strýček (vice-chairman), Jozef Zlatňanský, Ignác Pňaček, Nicola Cotugno, Viliam Kupec and Ján Juhász. The SE supervisory board has the following members: Richard Kasanický (chairman), Carlo Tamburi (vice-chairman), Livio Vido, Luigi Michi, Francesca Gostinelli, Marco Salemme, Maurizio Rossetto, Peter Mihók, Renato Mastroianni, Eduard Metke, Zdenek Turian, Jozef Stano, Michal Korec, Ján Topoľovský and Igor Daubner.

SE is the dominant producer of electricity in Slovakia. Since 2006, the Italian company Enel Produzione S.p.A. has been its majority shareholder, with a 66-percent stake. The remaining 34 percent is owned by the National Property Fund (FNM), with shareholder rights exercised by the Economy Ministry. The company has around 5,400 employees.
