THE SPEAKER of parliament and head of the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH), Pavol Hrušovský called on Rača mayor Pavol Bielik, who is charged with bribery, to resign.
Hrušovský also wants to see Bielik give up all his party positions, the daily SME wrote.
Bielik is facing prosecution in connection with a Sk5 million (€125,000) bribery scandal.
He allegedly demanded the Sk5 million in return for helping a firm get a construction permit.
However, Bielik says he sees no reason to resign and denies being involved in any criminal activity.
