Pavol Hrušovský, head of the opposition Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) confirmed on March 3 that he will run for re-election.He announced his long awaited candidacy at a meeting of the KDH Council in Žiar nad Hronom.
Hrušovský announced that the party will elect its new chairman at a congress that will be held on June 16.
The incumbent KDH chairman will have one opponent; KDH's deputy chairman, Vladimír Palko, who has already announced his plans to run.
Palko is supported by the party's founder and its former chairman, Ján Čarnogurský.
