KDH names Pavol Abrhan as caucus leader while Hrušovský remains its formal head

Pavol Abrhan will lead the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) caucus in parliament instead of its formal head, Pavol Hrušovský, who is now Speaker of Parliament, the SITA newswire reported.

Pavol Abrhan will lead the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) caucus in parliament instead of its formal head, Pavol Hrušovský, who is now Speaker of Parliament, the SITA newswire reported.

"Pavol Hrušovský remains the caucus chairman but he has tasked deputy chair Pavol Abrhan with leading the caucus as he has other duties stemming from the post of Speaker of Parliament," KDH spokesperson Matej Kováč told SITA on October 24.

Parliament recalled Richard Sulík from Freedom and Solidarity (SaS) party from the speaker’s chair on October 13 and elected Hrušovský. Sulík lost the trust of the Slovak Democratic and Christian Union (SDKÚ), the KDH and Most-Híd caucuses after his party failed to support to changes in the eurozone bailout mechanism, the EFSF, and toppled the centre-right government led by Iveta Radičová.
