THE CHRISTIAN Democratic Movement (KDH) is not leaving the ruling coalition although the reform proposed by the KDH's Education Minister Martin Fronc failed to get through parliament.
This was due to the fact that a coalition partner, the New Citizen's Alliance (ANO), voted against the reform, the SME daily wrote.
The KDH did not call on the ANO to leave the coalition either but KDH chairman Pavol Hrušovský announced that as of now, "this ruling coalition is no longer a coalition of parliamentary caucuses but rather just a coalition of ministers."
Hrušovský also said that KDH “feels free” towards Pavol Rusko and his ANO party, meaning they feel no obligation towards them. He added that Rusko "brought a characterless style into the coalition". Rusko, however, blames the KDH for the existing problems between the two parties.
Although PM Mikuláš Dzurinda said that in his opinion the coalition could still work effectively, MPs from the ruling parties admitted that it will be hard for the coalition parties to operate in parliament.
