THE OPPOSITION Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) wants to amend the Labour Code to extend the paid leave period for employed husbands by one week during the first month after the birth of a child.

KDH Deputy Chairman Július Brocka said at a press conference on January 15 that one week of paternity leave for men could provide support for parents during the return of mothers from maternity hospitals, and improve the atmosphere in society.

The longer paid leave, according to Brocka, will be especially helpful for families with school-age children.
