The Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) wants to change the existing laws so that the anonymous birth of children is possible for women who do not want to take care of their babies or who cannot do so for objective reasons.

The Slovak daily SME wrote that, according to the KDH plan, such women could give birth to their children without having their personal data put onto the child's birth certificate.

KDH also wants to abolish the current legislation that makes abandoning a child a criminal act; the party argues that abandoning a child is more ethical than having an abortion.

According to KDH MP Július Brocka the changes would enable these children to be adopted more quickly.

He also said that the data about the mothers of such children would be in a special database of the Health Ministry and a court could only approve looking into the data if it were in the interest of the child.
