The automotive company Kia Motors Slovakia, located in Teplička nad Váhom, Žilina Region, has launched the production of its second new model this year: the Kia Cee'd Sportswagon, the TASR newswire reported on August 24.
“The Sportswagon represents another important milestone for our brand’s breakthrough onto the European market,” said head of Kia Motors Slovakia, Eek-Hee Lee, as quoted by TASR, adding that the production lines for launching the serial production have been prepared since the beginning of this year.
He also said that he believes the new model “will satisfy the expectations of our European customers, and that thanks to this we will meet our target to make 285,000 cars this year”, TASR wrote.
The plant in Teplička nad Váhom has produced more than 167,000 vehicles since the beginning of 2012, which represents in increase of 11 percent year-on-year. In addition, they have made about 266,000 engines, which is 24 percent more than during the same period last year.
