The base monthly salary for employees of Kia Motors Slovakia will rise by an average of 3.2 percent under the collective agreement signed by the company management and employee representatives on Monday, May 27.
The TASR newswire learned from Kia Motors Slovakia spokesman Jozef Bačé that the backdated contract addendum is effective as of April 1, 2013 and runs until March 31, 2014. Aside from the salary hike, employees will also be paid an overall bonus equalling €728 in two instalments in August and December due to estimated successful 2013 economic results.
"All employees will once again receive a €50 Christmas coupon (covered by the social fund) at the end of the year,” said Bačé. “Moreover, if the production plan is met, employees will continue to enjoy 30-percent motivation bonuses paid every quarter of the year, so employees working in production can look forward to earning an additional €1,680 this year in bonuses."
Based on the collective agreement, Kia Motors Slovakia will also pay its employees regular summer (55 percent) and Christmas (50-65 percent) bonuses, with employees also being able to improve their income via an attendance bonus (€8.30 per week), Bačé said. "The company management believes that despite a longer round of talks preceding it, the clinched deal represents a reasonable compromise for both parties involved, and that conditions concerning remuneration negotiated for 2013 will be motivating enough for employees," he added.
