SLOVAK President Andrej Kiska left for a working visit to Warsaw on September 17 to discuss with Polish President Bronislaw Komorowski the current state of the bilateral relations, with an emphasis on specific infrastructure and energy projects, and current foreign policy issues.
In order to promote development of trade and investment relations between the two countries, Kiska will attend in Warsaw the opening ceremony of a new project by the real estate company HB Reavis, which holds first place among Slovak investors in Poland, Spokesman for the Slovak President Peter Petrus informed the SITA newswire.
Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko has invited Kiska to visit Ukraine, with the Slovak president accepting the invitation, the TASR newswire wrote on September 16. Poroshenko’s invitation was extended by Ukraine’s Ambassador to Slovakia, Oleg Havashi, whom Kiska received at Havashi’s request.
Meanwhile, Kiska expressed his support for the pro-European orientation of Ukraine and pledged for Slovakia to stand ready to share with Ukraine its experience with respect to reform processes. The two officials also discussed the situation ahead of Ukraine’s parliamentary elections as well as security in eastern Ukraine and prospects for a peaceful resolution of the conflict.
