TRADE Inspection (SOI) officers will carry out a one-week campaign in Slovakia's bars and pubs to observe whether customers get imitation instead of the real Kofola drink.
The SOI initiative was motivated by information that fake Kofola was served in some restaurants and bars in Bratislava, the Hospodárske noviny business daily wrote.
Kofola is Slovakia's most popular soft drink and is similar to internationally known coke-based brands. The original Kofola is made in the Czech Republic.
The company last year sold Sk190 million (€4.9 million) worth of Kofola in Slovakia, which represented an annual growth of 45 percent.
