Myung-Chul Hahm, Korean Ambassador to Slovakia based in Prague, described the conditions of Universiad village for athletes (Liptovsky Mikulas) of the 1999 World Winter Universiad as "above standard". Hahm was particularly delighted with the idea of housing all world athletes under one roof, adding that Slovakia was the first country in the games' history to present such an idea.
The ambassador also met with members of the Korean hockey team. Despite losing its four games by a combined score of 40 to 3, the team said that they liked Slovakia very much and were chiefly impressed with the food.
The 1999 World Winter Universiad games ended on January 30. Korea hosted the last games in 1997.
