"It's an unequivocal fact that travelling between Bratislava and Košice is much more convenient by airplane than by car in terms of time and money," Košice Airport executive deputy director Tomáš Jančuš told the TASR newswire on Sunday, August 26. According to Jančuš, a direct flight connection between the two cities – approximately 450 km – holds enormous importance and potential, not only for the east of the country but Bratislava, too. The average time it takes to travel from Bratislava to Košice by car is five-six hours, while it is only an hour by plane.

Representatives of the Košice Airport as well as the only Slovak-based air carrier Danube Wings are collaborating on the introduction and promotion of the flight.
