BANSKÁ Bystrica regional governor Marian Kotleba appeared at a special hearing before regional councillors on December in order to respond to claims that all nominees at the regional authority and employees of the regional road administration have to transfer 20 percent of their salaries into Kotleba’s bank account, as was reported by the Plus 7 Dní weekly.
Kotleba said that people donate money to him to support his political activities and even some Banská Bystrica regional employees do that, the Sme daily reported.
“The employees of the office are also among them, I don’t have any problem confessing to that, Kotleba said, as quoted by TASR. “But it’s total nonsense that anybody would donate money under the threat of dismissal.”
He further denied accusations that he blackmails people.
“That is a bit too much, [it was claimed in the article] that it is enough for me to point my finger at somebody in order [for them] to be beaten up by guys from the gatehouse,” Kotleba said, as quoted by TASR. “That’s over the top.”
