THE TRADE union confederation KOZ is concerned that the cabinet is taking steps to undermine the tripartite principle, said KOZ Vice-President Eugen Škultéty.
Speaking at a press conference on Thursday in Bratislava, he said that the draft act on the Tripartite (a negotiating body including the government, employers, and trade unions), prepared by the Ministry of Labour, will probably not contradict the recommendations of the International Labour Organisation (ILO).
According to the ILO, it is up to every country to decide for itself on a form of social dialogue.
However, Škultéty said that the unions saw the draft act as a government attempt to turn the Tripartite into a kind of advisory body. KOZ is firmly against this.
