SLOVAK officials have mixed reactions to the re-election of George W. Bush as the President of the United States. While the Slovak President Ivan Gašparovič sent his congratulations to Bush, the Slovak Communist Party (KSS) expressed regrets over the US citizen's choice, calling Bush a warmonger.

In a letter sent to Bush November 4, the Slovak president expressed "sincere interest on behalf of the Slovak Republic in strengthening Slovak-American relations”, according to SITA news reports.

Parliamentary communists sounded a critical note.

"It's a pity for the world and the United States that the majority of the US electorate backed the warmonger George Bush," the KSS stated.

According to the KSS, Bush’s re-election is a historical milestone that will bring war and needless aggression to the world.
