From the 12 parts of Fico’s manifesto that refer to foreign policy, the prime minister has only addressed support for Slovaks living abroad and cooperation with the UN.

Kukan also pointed out the lack of cooperation among PM Fico, Foreign Affairs Minister Ján Kubiš and President Ivan Gašparovič when making foreign policy statements. He cited the divergent comments made on the status of Kosovo and the proposed US missile defence system that is to be located in the Czech Republic and Poland.

"For these reasons, our partners abroad place less trust in Slovakia," said Kukan.
