If a social enterprise violates its agreement, Labour, Social Affairs and the Family Minister Viera Tomanová is ready to terminate cooperation with it, she said after a government session on April 14, the TASR newsier wrote.
She, however, refused to comment on whether such concerns may be acted upon. Contracts with two of the eight pilot social enterprises have already been cancelled. “Don't jump the gun,” she told TASR.
“We’re regularly working with the social enterprises, checking them. Immediately one of them violates the agreement, (or) makes a fraud, I have the full right to back out of the contract. And I don’t care, who would violate it,” said Minister Tomanová.
After the controversy surrounding Arvik social enterprise, another contract with a company called Horehronský sociálny podnik (Upper-Hron Social Enterprise) was cancelled this month due to problems related to proving its incomes. In addition, there are indications that another enterprise, Revúca Social Enterprise, may be in trouble, according to the European Commission audit report. This time, there are problems with dubious links between the owner and supplier and sales under the price.
