The Slovak Foreign Affairs Minister Miroslav Lajčák spoke with Korean EXPO Commissioner Joon-hee Lee about Slovakia's possible participation at EXPO 2012 in the South Korean city of Yeosu, TASR was told by ministry spokesman Peter Stano on October 12.
The world exhibition will be thematically focused on oceans and coastlines. "Even though Slovakia is a landlocked country, this topic is very relevant as it is connected to climate changes affecting everyone," underlined Lajčák, adding that he doesn’t doubt South Korea can organise an excellent global event.
The ministry realises, according to Lajčák, the possibilities for the presentation of Slovakia that ensue from the participation at EXPO. The decision whether or not the country will take part in the exhibition will be taken by the government in the coming months based on recommendations from the Economy Ministry. TASR
