Dear Editor,
Thanks for bringing up the story of the student, who was beaten by skinheads, in your newspaper [Vol. 5, No. 39, "Beating scares foreign students," by Chris Togneri].
There have been lots of attacks on foreign students ever since my arrival in this country in 1992. We foreign students once held a demonstration to protest against the behaviour of skinheads and the police respectively. Besides, most Slovaks do not pitch in to stop these attacks on foreigners.
There have been cases where students have transferred to other countries to further their education because of these assaults. One Zimbabwean student committed suicide about two years ago after sustaining head injuries in a skinhead attack. I hope that through your newspaper a solution may be found.
