Dear Editor,

I am writing in response to your query about who is reading The Slovak Spectator [Vol. 5, No. 40, "Culture Shock: In Bratislava, you are what you read," by Rick Zednik].

I've been reading your newspaper on a somewhat irregular basis since 1995 or 1996. During my vacation stays in Slovakia, which used to be quite long when I still was a student, I always bought the paper version. Now, working for a state authority in Stockholm, I read your electronic paper almost every week. As I am a former student of political science with a special interest in central Europe - with a focus on Slovakia as well as Poland - your newspaper helps me to understand how things work (and don't work) in the little, but interesting, republic of Slovakia. So far, my feeling has been that you are doing very good work and that you always try to combine objectivity with critical analysis. This is good not only for the reputation of your newspaper, but in the long run also for the development of Slovak democracy and the economy. Keep up with the good work and I'll keep reading you!
