Khalifa M. Ahmed, Chargé d´affaires at the Libyan Embassy in Slovakia, has said that Libya considers Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico February visit one of the most successful visits of a European leader to the country.
Ahmed, who met with Slovak Parliamentary Foreign Affairs Committee Chair Boris Zala on April 12, said he appreciated Slovakia's offer of help to Libyan children infected with HIV.
Zala called on Libyan President Gaddafi to act in a humane way in the case of the five Bulgarian nurses and Palestinian doctor sentenced to death for allegedly infecting hospitalised children with the HIV virus.
Zala also said it is necessary to intensify mutual relations, especially concerning trade and commerce, and that the planned visit of a Libyan investment committee should boost that effort.
The Foreign Affairs Committee office said that during the visit, Libya's debt to Slovakia will also be discussed.
