THE LICENSING council has censured private TV channel JOJ for a broadcast of its regular TV discussion programme Lampa on November 16, 2009 which had as its topic the events of November 1989.
The programme was criticised by the licensing council for not offering a balanced view. The only two guests in the programme were writer and journalist Martin M. Šimečka and the head of the Civic Conservative Party (OKS) Peter Zajac, both of whom were among the leaders of the Velvet Revolution in Slovakia. JOJ received a warning that it had violated the law.
