Former interior minister Daniel Lipšic, who left the Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) and is now an independent MP, said he would introduce the names of people supporting his political vision this week, the TASR newswire reported. Currently, the only known public supporter of Lipšic is MP Jana Žitňanská who left KDH together with him in May.
"Now we're trying to make our economic thoughts more detailed and we'll probably have a presentation on the European Stabilisation Mechanism (ESM) on Thursday, along with new people," said Lipšic, adding that these are people with a professional background who are well-known and respected.
The MP said there is a group of experts who have refrained from taking part in politics in the past but the current political situation has convinced them to be more active. Lipšic has taken part in six meetings with people in the eastern Slovakia and others are scheduled around the country. He would like to start collecting signatures for his new party this summer if he sees the chance for his political platform to succeed.
"I wouldn't maybe like to set up a party, but rather a wider movement," Lipšic specified, adding that the most common questions he gets are from people concerned with corruption and the Gorilla file.
