The consortium led by the construction firm Hant, which offered the lowest bid in a tender, may get the chance to build the 15-kilometer section of the cross-country D1 highway between Hubová and Ivachnová. The Public Procurement Office (ÚVO) does not agree with the National Highway Company (NDS), which excluded the consortium from the tender because it submitted an especially low bid, the Sme daily reported on October 20.
In the original bid Hant offered €207 million, while the state estimated the costs to exceed €460 million. However, also other bidders submitted similarly low bids yet the NDS did not rule those out, says the public procurement authority. The highest bids amounted to around €235 million.
“The necessary prerequisite is that the bids of all attending [bidders] must be subject to the same conditions,” reads the official statement of ÚVO, as quoted by Sme.
