AS MANY as 55 percent of people aged 15 to 25 have read text messages from the mobile of their partner or close friend, according to an online poll by GfK Slovakia at the beginning of March, the SITA newswire has reported.
The most frequently-given reason for snooping was curiosity about whom their friends or partners were exchanging messages with (38 percent of respondents). Suspicion or fear of infidelity was the reason for 10 percent of people. Young people also read other people's texts out of jealousy, mistrust, or doubts about their relationship. According to four percent of those asked, their reason was simply boredom, and three percent said it was necessary to keep tabs on their partners from time to time.
