Majority reject university fees

A SURVEY carried out by the MVK agency for the daily SME reveals that just over 67 percent of people are against university fees, the daily reported.

Parliament is currently considering a new law that would introduce fees, requiring university students to pay tuition.

Pavel Haulík, head of MVK, says that people have started to protest against the proposed fees because they think they will be too much of a burden.

According to Haulík, the Education Ministry has had problems communicating why the fees are necessary. It also has had to deal with public protests on the issue.
