BUSINESSMAN Jozef Majský, who along with Dávid Brtva and Patrik Pachinger has been charged with siphoning Sk800 million from the bankrupt pyramid schemes BMG Invest and Horizont, was fined Sk50,000 for failing to turn up at a scheduled court hearing on November 13.
Maský claimed poor health as an excuse. It is the sixth time he has missed a hearing at the Special Court.
According to his sick leave papers, Majský has been hospitalized with chest pains at the National Centre for Heart and Vascular Diseases in Bratislava. However, according to the Sme daily, Majský was already planning to excuse his absence at court with another sick leave as early as October 20.
As a result, the court has been forced to postpone the case indefinitely.
