Businessman Jozef Majský, who was charged last week with fraud and racketeering, has been stripped of his post as honorary consul to Cyprus at the request of the Mediterranean nation.
Majský is suspected of looting a deposit fund that worked as a pyramid scheme this spring, causing over Sk16 billion in losses to 200,000 depositors after the fund crashed.
