A Japanese supplier of machinery technologies and services, Makino, opened a new technology and training centre in Bratislava on October 25.
The centre will serve all of Europe, Slovak Investment and Trade Development Agency (SARIO) spokesperson Jana Murínová told the TASR newswire.
Makino’s Bratislava centre operates in the area of consulting and sales, application engineering, and services. It has branches throughout the world, including in Germany, Italy, France and the Czech Republic.
Makino decided to place the Technological and Training Centre in Bratislava because it's "the ideal position in the heart of Europe, providing comfortable access to the company's key markets," said Murínová. “For instance, at least 11 car-makers produce some 3.8 million cars per year within a 300-kilometre radius of Bratislava.”
Since 2005, Makino Europe has grown from being a producer of machine tools to a supplier of technologies and services. The company has also set out a new direction, focusing on marketing, sales, application engineering and services.
Makino Milling Machine supplies technologies and services in the machine tool industry. It has 3,400 employees worldwide, including 40 in Bratislava.
