Malinová evidence is “lost"

Prosecutor General Dobroslav Trnka said some evidence from the investigation into an alleged assault on ethnic Hungarian student Hedviga Malinová have been lost forever due to procedural errors of police and the prosecutor’s office, the Sme daily wrote on September 24.

He said the investigators and the prosecutor erred in some matters. But he excused them, saying the police and the prosecutor acted at a hectic time and were under enormous pressure.

Trnka's statement irritated Malinová's lawyer, Roman Kvasnica. He asked the Prosecutor General to say clearly whether he considered the criminal prosecution of Malinová legitimate or not.

He also asked for someone to examine who made the errors and how.
