THE INVESTIGATOR of the National Criminal Agency has charged the very first person with election corruption related to November’s regional elections. 40-year-old Sándor Sz. allegedly bribed voters with €5 vouchers and tobacco, the TASR newswire reported on November 26.
Sándor Sz. allegedly offered bribes to voters in Šimonovce, Banská Bystrica Region, during the first round run-off held on November 9. He allegedly gave them a piece of paper containing the numbers of specific candidates, spokesperson for the Police Presidium Michal Slivka told TASR.
If found guilty, Sándor Sz. could spend anywhere from one to five years in prison.
