MAN Steyr to set up in Bánovce nad Bebravou

AUSTRIAN truck producer MAN Steyr, will start producing parts for trucks in the Slovak town of Bánovce nad Bebravou, in the region of Trenčín, in the autumn of this year.

According to the Hospodárske noviny business daily the plant in Bánovce nad Bebravou would start out with 25 employees, but within three years this would increase to 300.

The Bánovce plant will be producing parts for MAN’s plants in Vienna and Steyr.

“In Bánovce we will produce parts that until now we have bought in Western Europe,” said Bruno Krainz, the head of the MAN Österreich branch.

The investment will reach €3 million (Sk117.5 million).

The Bánovce plant is not related to the planned Central European plant of MAN Österreich’s parent company, the German MAN concern.
