Man who caused blast at Topoľčany factory is identified

Police said on Wednesday, August 26, that they had identified a man who brought explosives to Euromont company in Topoľčany on Tuesday and died in the blast that followed, the SITA newswire reported.

Police said on Wednesday, August 26, that they had identified a man who brought explosives to Euromont company in Topoľčany on Tuesday and died in the blast that followed, the SITA newswire reported.

The police said the incident was caused by 36-year old Peter H. from the village of Veľke Ripňany. Spokesman for the Police Presidium Martin Korch told SITA that the motive and further circumstances of this case are under investigation.

As a result of the explosion the building of plastics producer Euromont caught fire. The fire brigade extinguished the fire quickly. Five people were injured in the accident. One woman was seriously hurt. She was transported by helicopter to Nitra hospital. SITA
