Mečiar absent from 74 percent of parliamentary voting

VLADIMÍR Mečiar, the chairman of the opposition Movement for a Democratic Slovakia (HZDS) did not participate in 5,164 voting acts in parliament, which represents 74 percent of all voting acts during parliament's election term, SITA wrote.

The Alliance of a New Citizen (ANO) leader Pavol Rusko, who was the economy minister for a major part of this election term, attended 39 percent of all voting acts.

The attendance rate of independent deputy and mayor of Poprad Anton Danko was also less than 50 percent.

In contrast Party of Hungarian Coalition MPs Erzsébet Dolník and Klára Sarkózy were present at 99 percent of voting sessions.

Christian-Democratic Movement MPs Jozef Šimko and Jozef Miklušičák and Slovak Democratic and Christian Union MP Jarmila Tkáčová followed.

The Parliament voted 6,979 times, and the average attendance at voting sessions was 85 percent.
