The Hospodárske noviny writes that LS-HZDS leader Vladimír Mečiar's statements during the weekend worsened the position of Tibor Mikuš, who left the party after more than a decade.

The daily cites the ĽS-HZDS boss Mečiar as saying that a businessman who is a friend of the outgoing Tibor Mikuš allegedly promised money to the ĽS-HZDS deputies quitting the ĽS-HZDS deputy club. Head of the SMER-SD parliamentary caucus Miroslav Číž confirmed that he would personally be happy to welcome Tibor Mikuš to their deputy club but he has to take into consideration bribery attempts about which Mečiar spoke.
