VLADIMÍR Mečiar, head of the opposition party Movement for a Democratic Slovakia said that Robert Fico, leader of the opposition party Smer, had refused to support an attempt to recall the current cabinet by parliamentary vote.
Mečiar said in an interview with the private TV channel Markíza on February 8 that Fico had rejected the plan, arguing that it would be a "parliamentary putsch".
Mečiar did not specify when the plan had been discussed. He is currently facing the accusation that his party supports the Mikuláš Dzurinda cabinet, which both the HZDS and the PM's Slovak Democratic and Christian Union have denied.
