For the first time in the last nine years printed media earned more than television broadcasters. While publishers cashed in 42 percent of the media income, representing Sk3.3 billion (€88 million), TV broadcasters earned Sk3.2 billion in total.
Of the Sk3.3 billion that the top 50 publishers of printed media earned in 2005, as much as 80 percent went to the top 10 publishing houses - Sk2.8 billion (€74 million).
According to the estimates, the net sales for advertising increased 11 percent year-on-year in the printed media while TV broadcasters cashed in over 4 percent more on an annual basis.
