MEDICARE, the youngest health insurance company on the Slovak market, plans to launch operations in May or June this year.
"Millions of euros will be invested into the new health insurance company's activities to allow it to actively enter the Slovak market," said Willem van Duin, the head of Medicare. Van Duin is also a member of the board of the Dutch insurer Eureko.
Medicare intends to target students, young families and economically active citizens, the SITA news agency wrote.
The Healthcare Supervision Authority issued an insurance license to Eureko on February 13, allowing it to set up Medicare in Slovakia.
