MEP profile: Monika Flašíková-Beňová

Monika Flašíková-Beňová was born in 1968 in Bratislava. She graduated from the Faculty of Political Relations of Matej Bel University in Banská Bystrica. Previously, she was a director of private radio station Koliba. In 2000 she co-founded the Smer party where she has served as a vice-chairwoman. From 2002 to 2004 she was a deputy in the Slovak parliament and in 2004 she was elected an MEP. In the EP, she has been a member of the Committee on Foreign Affairs and the vice-chairwoman of the Delegation for Relations with Israel.
