After the start of production in Šamorín, Mevis had about 50 employees and gradually invested about €10 million in the production unit. Three years ago the company started manufacturing in the second production unit in Galanta.
The company is now preparing a new project to unite its production in Slovakia in one place and increase capacity.
Because the current premises in Šamorín do not enable Mevis to expand any more, it decided to build a brand new plant in the local industrial park.
The Italians plan to invest in the new plant, with construction to finish in March 2015 at a cost of €12 million. The new plant should employ approximately 250 people.
