Foreign Affairs Minister Ján Kubiš met US Ambassador to Slovakia Vincent Obsitnik on February 26 to discuss developments in the wake of Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence on February 17, Foreign Ministry spokesman Ján Škoda told SLOVAKIA. The meeting was part of Kubiš's regular working consultations, Škoda said.
The planned U.S. anti-missile shield in Central Europe, the involvement of NATO in Afghanistan, and the NATO summit to be hosted by Romanian capital Bucharest in April 2008 were also discussed. Further steps regarding Slovakia's inclusion in the visa-free regime with the USA featured at the end of the meeting, Škoda said. TASR
