Michalovce lobbying for industrial park

The east Slovak town of Michalovce is to submit a plan to the Economy Ministry to have a 17-hectare area of land near the German electronics firm Siemens declared an official industrial park site. If the ministry approves, the area would be eligible to have 70 per cent of park construction costs covered by the state. Michalovce Mayor Jozef Bobík has said the town has had preliminary interest from German and Italian firms who could be attracted by the production of BSH Drives and Pumps and Siemens Automotive in the Zemplin region.
