Mikloš: Budget vote in parliament on Thursday at earliest

The budget is set to be debated in parliament at its session beginning today (November 30). "I assume that the vote won't take place earlier than Thursday," Mikloš said, as quoted by the TASR newswire. There have been rumours that Christian Democratic Movement (KDH) MP Anton Marcinčin isn't willing to support the budget. Mikloš said that he had discussed KDH support with party leader Ján Figeľ, who told him that he was unaware of any opposition within his party and that it still backs the budget.

Commenting on the recent partial failure of a German sovereign bond issue, he commented: "It isn't normal that even Germany is unable to borrow.
