The minimum wage in Slovakia is to go up from its current Sk7,600 to Sk8,100 as of October, the Social Partnership Council (HSR) decided on July 30.
The council is made of trade unions, government representatives and employers.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Labor, Social Affairs and Family, Emilía Kršíková, said the social partners agreed to a draft bill on minimum wage. According to the draft, minimum wage is to be increased every year on January 1, starting in 2009.
The minimum wage will be Sk8,100 from this October until the end of next year. The new minimum wage amount is yet to be approved by the Cabinet.
