Interior Minister Róbert Kaliňák (Smer) and Police Corps President General Ján Packa will have to explain to the Parliamentary Committee for Defence and Security the circumstances of the alleged scams concerning driver tests
and theft of motor fuel. The scams have, allegedly, been carried out for over several years by the drivers at the Office for Protection of Constitutional Representatives, the SITA newswire wrote on March 18.
The motion to convene an extraordinary session of the committee was
submitted and signed by five of its members, in addition to the opposition deputies Martin Pado, Martin Fedor (both Slovak Democratic-Christian Union, SDKÚ), Vladimír Palko, Béla Bugár (both independent), also by Ján Kovarčík of the governing coalition party Movement for Democratic Slovakia, HZDS. The head of the committee Rudolf Pučík of the junior coalition Slovak National Party (SNS) has to convene the session within seven days of submission of the motion.
