LABOUR Minister Iveta Radičová wants to change the first pillar of the pension reform. She plans to withdraw the revision to the law on social insurance from parliament and prepare a new one within three months, the SME daily reported.

Among other issues the minister wants to resolve is the big difference between pensions of the older pensioners and the new ones. Former Labour Minister Ľudovít Kaník proposed that the difference is partly eliminated through a change in valorization of old and new pensions, but Radičová considers that this is not systematic and "has no considerable impact on the difference".

It is still unclear what concrete measures the minister is working on, however. The Labour Ministry stated that no changes would be made to the second, the so- called capitalization pillar of the pension reform.
