MINISTERS with economic portfolios (including finance, transport, labour and other ministers) discussed a Culture Ministry proposal on how to complete construction at the new Slovak National Theatre (SND) building, the daily SME reported.
The ministers agreed on a solution and advised the cabinet to approve the sale of the buildings of the National Theatre's headquarters as well as the Hviezdoslav theatre.
Money from the sale would then be used to found a new joint-stock company which would own the SND's new building.
The current SND management finds this solution completely unacceptable. It radically disapproves of moving to a new building administered by someone else. Managers compared this proposal to direct liquidation.
