Consumption of natural gas in Slovakia will gradually rise in the coming years, according to an Economy Ministry analysis.
The prediction shows that about 6.23 billion cubic meters of natural gas will be consumed in the country this year. Last year, 5.8 billion cubic meters of natural gas were used in Slovakia.
The analysis went on to state that gas consumption will rise by 6.5 billion cubic meters in 2010 and 7.7 billion cubic meters in 2020. The ministry expects a moderate growth in consumption within the next 3-5 years due to the construction of new sources to generate electricity and heat. SITA
